RUMJUNKIE a darker kind of rum Welcome to the world of the RumJunkie RumJunkie have been wandering in the wilderness, seeking sustenance from many sources, becoming weak and flacid. We forget the core belief of Rumjunkie is to kick arse and have fun doing it. So, no more! Unleash the metal dogs of war. We have a new very metal guiarist, we have a new logo, oh yes! We have new songs written from the soul, via the bollox. We've given our setlist an enema, we've been playing some of these songs for over 5 years and we want to shake things up a bit and now is a perfect opportunity. Watch this space! Who We Are RumJunkie were formed from the smouldering embers of Taunton punkers CiderMetalFite in 2003. CMF having imploded in a drink and drug fuelled rampage of destruction Az and Frowdey decided to start again with a more focused and less unstable line-up while retaining the raw sound and attitude of CiderMetalFite. Jameses was swiftly recruited and RumJunkie performed as a 3 piece, gradually gaining local support over a 3-year period. In early 2006 RumJunkie were on hiatus with Az on holiday in Australia. However we had applied to a Battle of the Bands in Nuneaton and had to perform in the 1st round. Luckily Justin Towell from recently disbanded Unseen Envy agreed to join RumJunkie and we succesfully won the battle of the bands, opening the main stage at the 2006 Rock N Blues attended by 30,000 people This line up lasted until May 2008, playing more commercially accesible music but feeling more and more dissatisfied with the offerings of various professionals in the music industry. We parted amicably with Justin and began a search for his replacement. In May 2008 RumJunkie recruited Chris Threlfall on guitar. We are currently writing new material and re-considering back catalogue.
